Most of the times old dogs are stronger than we can think! My poodle was 12 years old and still was a hurricane! X'D
She came from the pound when she was 3 months old, now ten and a half years of awesome later, all due to my sweetest girl.
Thank you for making this stamp, and allowing me to reminisce :)
Actually I prefer older dogs, because they are usually not as much of struggle like puppies and they are ,to me, easier to train! Puppies tend to chew and tear things apart and are very hyper and playful, because they are just puppies.
Plus I treat my dog ,that is seven years old, like if she were my sister. I love her to death!
yup, I see and I totally agree!
I never adopted an old dog cuz all the dogs I had and I currently have were gifted by friends or were rescued by me ... but to adopt some old dogs from pounds is a dream of mine
Me too! I love my animals to death! I could not live without them
Dogs are family, not just pets.
You don't buy a dog cause it's a "cute little puppy" you buy it because it is a friend and a member of the family.
They aren't objects, just because they get old and "aren't cute little puppies anymore" doesn't mean it's OK to just disown them... sorry... I'm ranting
nah, do not worry!
Yeah, you're totally right!
with such an important message!
Old dogs deserve more attention!
We adopted a 16 year old dog once. He was so depressed when we first saw him. He was just lying in a corner staring at nothing and not even trying to get anyone's attention. He'd completely given up.
The shelter was no-kill but even so...we felt so sorry for him and couldn't leave him like that, at 16 he had almost no chance of being adopted.
He had apparently been dumped at a neighbours house to be looked after temporarily, but they never went back for him, and the neighbours couldn't or didn't want to keep him permanently so he wound up at the shelter.
He was a doberman x german shepherd mix, and very gentle, very well behaved (somebody had spent a lot of time on him somewhere along the line), He loved his walks although he got tiered easily so I had to keep them short. He even got playful on occasion
Yes it hurt when we lost him (to cancer), but then it does to lose anyone (animal or human) that you care about. At least he died with a home and a family who loved him, and not miserable and unwanted in the shelter. That made a huge difference to him, and made it more than worth it. I'd happily do the same thing again.
Can I please I use this stamp?
I really hope to adopt an old dog one day
You can use this stamp of course!
E' da anni che vorrei tanto adottare un cane/gatto da un rifugio, ma tutti gli animali che sono arrivati a casa mia o sono regali di amici o trovatelli, come l'ultima cagnolina arrivata Sarà x il fututro
Plus, when you get an adult/senior pet, you don't have to worry about them tearing up your house! lol
Old dogs give less problems than puppies ^^
